Step A

1. Download to your hard drive the latest Wordpress http://wordpress.org/latest.zip
2. Extract the zip file
3. There are three folder such as: wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes
4. There are several files after extract (about 21 files)

Step B

1. Backup your website’s data or folder such as wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes, you can use Wordpress database backup plugin
2. After backup is done, recommended to download your to your hard drive the backup files, it time to begin.

Step C

1. Delete folder wp-admin and wp-includes. Please remember: Never delete wp-content
2. Delete all wp-xxxx file in your website directory such as wp-cron.php, wp-login.php, etc except for wp-config.php

Step D

1. Now upload wp-admin and wp-includes
2. Upload the main blog directory files such as wp-cron.php and wp-login.php etc.
3. After all files uploaded, now time to upgrade
4. In your web browser, go to your site http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php
5. Follow the step appear, usual message to upgrade database, just click the button

Now your Wordpress is with latest version.
