How much space is available on a disk

Maybe someday you want to check how much space of your hard disk that available to use. To know the available space on your hard disk is easy just follow the step below:

There is three ways:

  1. Open My Computer by click Start, and then click My Computer. Point to the hard disk you want to check. The total disk capacity and the amount of free space will appear as a tool tip.
  2. If the status bar is visible, the amount of free space appears in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. If you cannot see the free space, drag the right side of the window to enlarge it. To view the status bar, on the View menu, click Status Bar.
  3. You can also view the free space and other disk properties by right-clicking the disk and then clicking Properties.
