There are many tips and tricks to make computer work faster. Don’t install the programs that not important to you, Disk Cleanup or Disk Defragmenter. To uninstall programs that you have installed, you can read the previous article.

Disk Defragmenter

Disk Defragmenter is Windows XP utility for rearrange files and folder in your hard disk. Usually after defragmenter was done, your computer more powerful when there is order to do anything like open files, open programs, move folder, or play the games.

Windows XP provide two ways to defragmenter the hard disk. Defragmenter From Windows and command prompt. You can do both of them.

Disk Defragmenter form command prompt

Open command prompt by clicking this step: Start button, All Programs, Accessories and then click command prompt. Then type defrag/? and press enter to see details options. If want to analyze hard disk c:\ only type defrag c: -a and press enter.

Disk Defragmenter form Windows XP

Open Disk Defragmenter tools by clicking: Start button, All Programs, Accessories and System tools and then Disk Defragmenter. Choose drive that you want to defragment then click defragment at the bottom of Disk Defragmenter window. Wait for a moment, depend on your storage size and your cpu speed. After Disk Defragmenter was done, there are 2 options View Report and Close.

  1. Its really important to defrag regularly, or if you cant be bothered to do it manually, get an automatic defragmenter, whichever way, defrag for sure. It helps keep the file access speed good, reduces unnecessary strain on the HDD staving off hardware problems for longer.
