Hide Run From Start Menu Display

Some tools in Windows XP can open via Run menu. Just click start menu then click Run menu and type the execution file. Execution file in generally has extension as below: .exe, .com, .bat etc. From run menu you can access Registry Editor, System Configuration utility and other program that can we access from here.
Try to see in your mind’s eye if some one could easily access your sensitive data as Registry Editor and make any change that can make your system is down. . You must reinstall the system if it’s crash or down cause any activities. To put a stop to or prevent to this situation try to hide the Run menu.
Therefore, if you share your computer with children or inexperienced users you may want to remove the run command from the Start Menu all together.
The trick:
- Right click on start button then click properties.
- Then “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” window appear.
- Click Start menu tab then click Customize
- Click the “Advanced” tab.
- In the “Start menu items” list, uncheck the “Run command” box. You will probably need to scroll down the list to find the item.
- Click “OK” 2x.
The Run command should no longer be visible on the Window Start Menu. To get the Run command back, follow the procedure outlined above and re-check the box in Step 4
